I have listed down the top 5 phones of all time that gave the mobile phone world a new direction and things were no more the same in the industry.

Motorola Dynatac

This was the time when a portable phone was considered a gimmick – something to show off. Of course, no one realized at that time that this was the birth of a whole new industry that will reshape the world we live in. Motorola Dynatac (Motorola Dynamic Adaptive Total Area Coverage) - was commercially offered in 1984 for up to $3999.99, its ads are hilarious to watch now in 2015, it only had 30 minutes of talk time and 8 hours of standby and it could only save 30 contacts in the list.

This phone is important because it’s the first portable phone that was offered commercially to public. Although it may look like a brick but phones these days are direct descendants of this brick looking portable phone.

HTC HD2

This phone may sound like a weird choice for the list of one of the best phones ever but this was an important phone for a couple of reasons. First of all, its screen was huge for that time, it was 4.3 inch display. Back in 2009, the iPhone had what was considered as a big display but HTC blew it away in both size and resolution. It also featured 1 GHz snapdragon processor which made it the most powerful phone of that time. What makes this phone incredibly special is that it can run every operating system ever. It runs windows 8, it can run Ubantu Firefox OS, and it can even run android 4.4 kitkat as well. Now that is something. With the crazy software support and amazing specs, the HTC HD2 was one hell of a phone.

This phone came out in late 2009. One special thing about this phone was that this phone was the first phone that had Android 2.0 as its operating system. This phone became the official image of Android vs. Apple war that still carries on today. As a matter of fact, this phone was so popular that people called every android phone a droid. This device was a kind of like flagship device for all the android devices and you can think of it as a Nexus before the series even existed. It received official updates for two years and kept on getting unofficial updates even after that and people installed ROMs in it to keep up with the device.

Before Apple iPhone, cell phones had keypads and did not support touch display and had antennas on top of them. After Apple iPhone, cell phones changed, android came along to compete, phones started to support touch displays and they became smoother to keep up with the new player. This is easily the greatest phone of all time. Although there were a lot of Nokia phones that came out around the same time, this phone had to be the best phones of all time because this is the phone people think of when people think of classic phones. It was the first phone to ditch the plastic antennas, it was the first phone to have a screensaver, it had a battery life for days and days, and it had numerous custom designs. Most importantly, this phone was and still is indestructible because of how compact it was. You could scratch the phone, no problem. You could drop the phone, no problem. You could step on it, no problem. A truck runs over it, no problem. People have made YT videos about it being hit by a bullet and trust me; it takes a bullet better than any other phone out there.
